*Sigh........BIG *sigh ......this year will be the last year of my life languishing in the comfortable, warm, sun-drenched waters of my twenties. Yes, 2015 will mark my 30th year and with it no doubt will come all kinds of responsibilities and life changes that I have previously been able to dodge in the name of youth.
"Boooooooo" seems an entirely appropriate phrase right about now .
However, age is just a number and I've decided that in my last year as a twenty something I will not sit and mourn my freedom years, instead I will momentously celebrate them by doing as many crazy/ daft/ambitious/ outrageous/confidence boosting/ life changing/ always-wanted-to-do type things as possible in the run up to the big 3.0. (I will admit that I stole this idea from a date who had proclaimed he would do 30 things he'd always wanted to do before he was 30 - but we can all get in on some of that action).
So, where to begin? A list - lists are always good. Here is the start of mine. It will be added to over the course of the year I'm sure, but here are just a few of the random things that I intend to check off over the course of 2014. I'll keep you posted...........
1. Push my body to its limit with an Iron Man challenge or similar
2. Learn the rap by Alicia Dixon in Misteeq's All I Want.
3. Learn the Beyoncé dance to Single Ladies
4. Send my novel off to a publisher (I have realised that my long term dream to have a novel published will only ever be achieved by actually having the balls to actually send it out into the world instead of hiding it among the files of my laptop!!)
5. Learn a foreign language
6. Watch as many films as possible off the BBC 100 greatest movies off all time list http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/1676468.stm. I am 'that' only person in the world that hasn't seen any of the classics, doesn't appreciate those iconic lines that everyone quotes from movies and ....ahem......hasn't seen the Goonies (shhhh, don't tell anyone).
7. Develop old skills (namely cake decorating)
8. Develop new skills - I haven't decided what yet!
9. Take a dance class - specifically a Burlesque class - I feel that not only would it be fun, but it would be a cracking confidence booster.
10. Attempt the National Three Peaks Challenge (Okay so this one is a bit of a cheat because I'm already booked in to attempt this in September in aid of Help For Heroes and Cure leukaemia UK
So there you have it .... the first ten challenges have been set. I'm off to buy cheap movies on Amazon whilst I have a ponder on the next ten..........

We all want to be Mrs Carter!
If there's one person in this world that makes me as green with envy as she does bubbling over with admiration, it's Beyoncé. She's super sexy, utterly (seemingly) bodily confident, a loving wife and mother and a successful career woman. She's kept her feet firmly on the ground and appears to be one of the most humble and thankful mega stars ever to grace a red carpet and yet she knows that when she walks into a room that damn me she owns it! I bet she smells really nice too!
Her latest offering caused a storm at the Grammys and somehow she makes the kind of inebriated dancing that I do post last orders on a Friday night look seriously hot in the video.
Girl you aint the only one Drunk in Love it seems!! (See she's even made me come over all American snappy fingers!)
Watch and be in awe............

Starlight nails
Start by painting nails alternate light blue and dark blue. I've used 2true Fast Dry Colour Quick Nail Polish in shade 2 from Superdrug and Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Vogue .
Leave to dry and then coat in lashings of Sparkle Touch from the Miss Sporty range also found in Superdrug.
Hey presto Starlight Nails - perfect for shorties!

A picture a day
I stole this idea from a friend on Facebook who posted a picture a day for a year. The concept forces the photographer to focus on the simple pleasures in life - something that we should all be doing on a day to day basis.
You've heard that saying - "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves?" Well life works like that too. Live for the moment for a richer life.
Here's my first picture. At first glance my battered old running trainers may seem a little mundane but it's what they stand for that counts. Fresh air, freedom, glistening puddles and a pounding heart. The perfect way to start the day!!
